We have all heard much and seen much online on how to ENGAGE your audience. Various social platforms, blogs, and so on are all very good. What can one do about enhancing the QUALITY of audience engagement? Where does one get the kind of quality that makes your audience sit up and pay attention?

There are some factors involved here. To begin with, there’s the content creator’s narcissism to take care of. Your audience is NOT interested in how wonderful and experienced your expert employees are. They do NOT care about your preoccupation with your own salient characteristics. Focus on those things that you can deliver as a business. Focus on things that your audience expects from you or other vendors in your vertical. Audience engagement has to about the audience – not you, nor your organization, nor anyone within the organization.

You should be able to quite easily create and use a Google AdWords account to find out what keywords are being used by your audience. That gives you some idea about what they are looking for in connection with the kind of services you provide. Then on, it is up to you to ensure that you put in your best efforts towards answering those needs. Engaging your audience and lending an ear to their requirements thus becomes essential.

If you are not tuned in to your audience’s requirements, your audience engagement strategy is not quite in place. Even when you ARE tuned in and listening, you need to interact with the audience in ways that make your communications better and your audience engagement more profitable.

As for the quality of your communications with your audience, things such as infographics, video, cartoons, humor in the content, and such devices can be used to very good effect. Just because you have a business in a certain vertical does not mean that your audience engagement should sound typically formal and specific to the vertical.

A quality message evokes quality responses. And such interaction leads to conversions. Take great care in assigning audience engagement tools to personnel who can do full justice to the entire effort. Make the best use of your staff’s creativity and encourage them to bring in more of that.

Aesthetic sense, eye for detail, and a great sense of humor are indispensable to creating content that is bound to open up new avenues in your audience engagement strategy.
